Baraa Ramadan

I am an IT System Administrator with over six years of hands-on experience running hybrid infrastructure — Windows Server and Linux, on-premises and cloud — for companies in Germany. My day-to-day is the unglamorous, load-bearing part of IT: keeping Active Directory tidy, patching before something breaks, making sure the backups actually restore, and getting to the bottom of the fault rather than restarting until it goes away.

Most of my current work sits around virtualization and continuity: VMware vSphere / ESXi and Proxmox hosts, Veeam Backup & Replication with automated failover and regular restore tests, and Microsoft SQL Server backup strategy including point-in-time recovery. Before that I spent years in Level 1 / 2 support and on the network side, which is where the Cisco routing and switching training and the site-to-site and client VPN work come from.

I automate what repeats — PowerShell, Bash, Ansible and YAML-based configuration — and I document what I build, because infrastructure nobody understands is infrastructure nobody can fix.

Originally from Damascus, now based in Berlin. I work in German and English, and Arabic is my first language.
